Hailerz
Branding / UX Design
BACKGROUND
The Nigerian entertainment industry has truly come of age; its huge impact and cultural influence on young people across Africa has made Nigeria home to some of the most adorable celebrities. These celebrities have teeming fans who look forward to bonding with them. For this reason, Hailerz was founded as a digital solution platform to bridge the gap between fans and celebrities. We were hired to create the overall branding concept and UX design for the website.

Business goal
To build an all-inclusive digital product that bridges the gap between fans and celebrities. Anyone can find and book a celebrity to deliver a birthday shout out, congratulatory message, or even corporate message. The product is designed to scale and easily convert users into paying customers.
The problem
At the time we were commissioned, Hailerz was only an idea with no existing visual identity or design system. The first challenge was to craft an identity that reflects what Hailerz represent and other brand assets as a requisite for the next phase.
The urgent need to forge meaningful connections for social leverage gave rise to the idea of having a product such as Hailerz. However, the initial idea was vague and as a result, the project brief did not provide adequate information for a good head start. The next challenge was to determine existing interest in the product by developing a research document with data that show product-market fit. Since the idea was not well defined, a competitive analysis becomes necessary to determine current available solutions in the public space. The insights garnered from these researches would be used to develop personas, user flows, sitemap, initial wireframes etc.

Solution
Brand Identity Design
We dived into the project by first proffering solution to the identity problem. We identified keywords that are associated with what Hailerz represent; afterwards we designed a style-scape to communicate these brand attributes. Our goal was to design a brand identity that portrays youthfulness, vibrancy and fun. We also selected a colour scheme that matched these attributes. The result is an abstract identity made up of three elements: users, salutation and letter H.
UX Design
In the next phase, we developed personas and researched possible frustrations experienced by users via a comprehensive competitive analysis, especially friction points that could get users stuck or quit the product. Our findings led to the development of a detailed user map that outlines end to end user journey as well as tasks to be completed by visitors as soon as they get on the website. We tested several ideas that could ease navigation and improve the overall experience from the moment users sign up on the website to exit point where video request payment is completed. The goal was to design a product that is useful and usable.
Lastly, we created high fidelity wireframes to show the appearance and functionality of the website on completion. We also shared a prototype to demonstrate how users interact with the product.

Result
The final outcome of the project is quite impressive. After about 60 days of work, reviews and feedback that involved researches, user map design, sitemap development, wireframes and prototypes, we handed off an all-inclusive digital product that enables video sharing and connects fans to their favourite celebrities.
"The journey to developing my product has felt like a partnership. I have been mostly impressed by the level of professionalism and timeliness. As someone juggling multiple projects, clear communication and expectations setting is important for me. I had high expectations for my logo and website design (www.hailerz.com) and they were all met. This is why I continue to refer Stupeed Studio."
